    There are several names on this memorial that are near and dear to me. I’m pleased that our community chose such a fitting tribute to their service and sacrifices.

    I count myself among the truly lucky ones. There are names on the memorial that I recognize, but all my friends and close acquaintances made it back from Vietnam alive.

    Henry, I think what impressed me the most about the memorial is not the names of the people I knew but the sheer numbers of names on the memorial. When you think of how small our state is in population compared to the overly long list of names on the memorial, they just don’t add up. There are far more names on the memorial than there should be
